Zoning bylaws
Three new bylaws passed their first readings. One adds usages C3 and C4 to zone 41, the industrial park north of highway 148 near Quyon. This will allow service businesses, and recreo-touristic and craft businesses. Another adds usage C5, heavy commerce, to the centre of Quyon village.
The third bylaw will allow temporary occupation of tents, trailers and campers on residential lots, subject to conditions: one per lot, not in the front yard or within 3 metres of property lines at the sides, and for a maximum of 15 days consecutively, twice a year.
Appointments
Guy Marcotte was named as interim fire chief from July 1. Fire Chief Tom Howard has taken a leave of absence for personal reasons.
Robert Letourneau was named as interim municipal inspector until the end of 2005.
Student Nathalie Warden has an 8-week summer job as assistant in the planning department at $10 per hour. Sylvain Normandeau was named as assistant to the planning inspector for three months at $17 per hour.
Beautifying Quyon
The municipality was asked to match $5000 provided by the CLD des Collines to Onslow school for landscaping, to help make Quyon more attractive, and provide a place for residents after school hours. This passed by 5:3.
Roads
The road inspector is authorized to buy 28 tons of calcium for reducing dust on roads, for $15,000.
$4,300 is budgeted for painting lines on ch de la Montagne, and a new grader blade costing $3000 will be purchased.
The municipality will pay truckers with 10-wheel trucks $50 per hour when doing work for Pontiac.
