Building permits in municipality of Pontiac.
A new fee schedule was passed in March 2006. (in French, Journal de Pontiac 2006.03.29, page 22). Building permits now cost 75¢ per square foot, or $1500 for a 2000 square-foot house. This includes a septic installation and well. Authorization to cut trees commercially now costs $150. (Two examples of new fees). In Ottawa <www.ottawa.ca>, a building permit costs $13.50 per $1000 of construction value, ie $2700 for a $200,000 house. In addition there is a development charge of up to about $16,000 to cover the true cost of a servicing a new residence - paving, water, sewage, garbage and recycling, libraries, public transport etc.
In Gatineau <www.ville.gatineau.qc.ca>, in 2002 (most recent?) a building permit cost $200 for a residence and $7.50 per $1000 for commercial, industrial or institutional building.
In Chelsea <www.chelsea.ca>, a building permit costs $250 for single detached house, $100 for a new well and $250 for a new septic system, with a $1000 deposit, refunded when certificate of conformity is received by municipality.
In Cantley <www.cantley.ca>, a building permit for residence $200, for business $200 plus $370 per 30 square metres over 100 square metres. Septic tank or well permit costs $100. Commercial tree cut permit is $500.
In La Pêche <www.villelapeche.qc.ca>, a building permit costs $150 for a residence and $150 plus 1% of the exceeding of $100,000 for commercial etc. A permit for a new septic system is $200. Authorization for tree cutting is $50.
In L'Ange-Gardien <www.ville.lange-gardien.qc.ca>, a building permit for residence costs $400 including septic system. $300 is refundable when a septic system certificate of conformity is received. Commercial permits cost $4 per $1000 construction cost.

Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette does not appear to have a website yet.
